3 Ways to Get the Planet Fitness Military Discount

January 22, 2026 — Jt Spratley

Planet Fitness does offer military discounts. I say again, you can get a military discount at Planet Fitness gyms. PF gyms do not only offer discounts to first responders. There's no difference between a regular Planet Fitness veteran discount, disabled veteran discount, or active duty discount. Now for the caveats.

There are many invalid promotion codes for discounts available online. Some promo codes are outdated. Many, including the ones below, are only valid at certain gyms. Why? Planet Fitness gyms are predominantly franchise-owned. Each franchise [and gym general manager] can offer or refuse military veteran discounts. Below are three ways new and current customers can obtain a military discount at Planet Fitness.

Standard Planet Fitness Membership Pricing

A quick summary of Planet Fitness plans and pricing ensures you understand the potential savings. Planet Fitness has two membership options:

Memberships Classic Black Card
Monthly Fee $15 $24.99
Annual Fee $49.99 $49.99
Startup Fee Varies, Check the specific gym site Varies, Check the specific gym site
Cancellation Free Free
Benefits Cheapest option Can visit any Planet Fitness gym, bring a guest anytime, tan, and use massage chairs

Planet Fitness discounts can decrease or eliminate any of these fees. It would behoove you to always check the site for the specific gym you're interested in for up-to-date pricing.

Military veterans with health insurance elsewhere may be eligible for steeper discounts or a free Classic membership. Ask your insurance provider if they include a health and fitness program such as SilverSneakers or Active&Fit.

Join Online with the Planet Fitness Military Discount Promo Code

Now we dive into savings. The easiest way to get a Planet Fitness military discount: sign up online with a promo code.

  1. Have proof of military service for the first time you visit the club. I recommend your state-issued ID card with a veteran designation over the Veterans Affairs (VA) ID card. Most civilians aren't familiar with VA cards.

I do not recommend bringing your DD Form 214 as proof of military service. To most civilians, it's simply a sheet of paper with an overwhelmingly dense amount of text. If you lose it, it includes a lot of sensitive information which opens you up to identity theft. If you choose to bring your DD 214 regardless, at least bring the version without sensitive info - Member copy (formerly the "Member 1").

  2. Visit planetfitness.com.
  3. Select your preferred Planet Fitness gym.
  4. Select "Club Details" for detailed info or "Review Plans" to only view pricing tiers.
  5. Select "Have a promo code?" to show the text box.
  6. Type in one of the following promotion codes:
    Promo Codes military PFCORP10 CORPFMBC
Description Official Planet Fitness military discount promo code, Black Card General corporate membership promo code for Classic membership General corporate membership promo code for Black Card membership
Discount Info No annual fee, no starting fee, 1 month free No startup fee No annual fee, no starting fee, 1 month free
Total Pricing $24.99 monthly only $15 monthly, $49 annual fee $24.99 monthly only

Remember, this info changes per club and without notice. Always carefully read the pricing info on the official website for the actual gym.

  7. Select "Apply" to check if the promo code is applicable. If the promotion code is accepted at that club, you'll see "Promo code applied. Check out your deals below!" and available pricing options. If the promo code is invalid at that location, you'll see "This promo code is not valid." Eligibility does change per club and franchise. 8. When you first visit your gym, have your ID with veteran designation or VA ID card for proof. Active duty service members can show their common access card (CAC). They only need to see it.

Ask Your Planet Fitness about a Military Discount

I understand not trusting a random blog when making financial decisions. Here's the best way to double-check the info above for yourself:

  1. Call the Planet Fitness club you wish to join, ideally during normal business hours (9 AM – 5 PM).
  2. Ask plainly: "Does Planet Fitness have a military discount?"
If they say "yes," skip to step 4.
If they say "no," go to the next step.
  3. Request to speak to the general manager (GM) or assistant manager (ASM) to ask again: "Does Planet Fitness offer a military discount?" If they answer no, ask about the promo codes above. If they still refuse, ask how to contact the regional manager or call another gym to ask.
  4. If the answer is "yes," ask about the process and whether it applies to the Classic or Black Card membership.
  5. If you're happy with the pricing, sign up through the Planet Fitness website.
  6. Remember to bring proof of veteran status when you first check in at the gym.

Join a Gym that Honors the Discount, then Transfer Your Membership

I know, this "shouldn't be here" because it's "gaming the system." Oh well. I like saving money. This tip might encourage franchises to standardize the military discount process.

You can transfer your membership to another PF gym every few months. It's free and only requires a call to your main or home gym. You may not be able to transfer your account during the billing process - usually around the 17th of the month. Here's how this works:

  1. Follow the steps above for joining a Planet Fitness club, but choose a club that honors the "military" promo code.
  2. Once you've completed sign-up, call the gym and ask them to transfer your account to the gym you actually plan to use. This free process should only take minutes to complete.
  3. Call your local gym to confirm the transfer completed. Classic members won't be able to enter otherwise.
  4. Remember to bring proof of veteran status when you first check in at the gym.

Next time you hear someone say "Planet Fitness doesn't offer military discounts," show them this guide. Planet Fitness offers a military discount. The questions to ask are whether your preferred PF gym and their franchise honor military veteran discounts. Good luck.
