This Is My Story

One of the purposes of this blog is to tell my stories and leave a legacy. My experience and knowledge can help others and I want to ensure I do my part to improve the future for others. If you don’t tell your story, someone else will and you may not like how they manipulate it to suit their needs. It may drag your name in the mud to boost them on a pedestal while minimizing your contributions.

I’m not a great guy. I’ve made horrible mistakes that I still regret at times although I’ve reflected and learned from them. When I do someone wrong, I try to make it right because I know how disrespect feels. I try to have that conversation and closure. I have more important things to do than intentionally harm others.

When I do something eventful (good or bad), I later take time to self-reflect. It’s how I’ve learned so much about myself.

Years from now, I want others to be able to use my content to improve their lives. I want my kids, friends, and distant family members to have something physical to remember me and how I affected their lives. I struggle with the debate on should we be able to be forgotten because as much as it can hinder one’s personal safety, it can help resolve issues and bring families together. The only thing I know about my aunt that died years ago was her last job and religion. My grandmother was apparently the sweetest and respected by all. I have few memories of her. She once told my mother to let me back in the house after she’d jokingly (?) locked me out on the back door. Man, she let me back in that house quick.
